Somair S. Alam, Esq. is a federal immigration lawyer and founding attorney at Alam Law Group LLP. Somair holds a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) in Administration of Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Villanova University School of Law. Somair is admitted to practice law under the Washington D.C. bar and in U.S. federal courts. Somair is fluent in Urdu and Hindi and also speaks Swedish. Somair was born to immigrant parents in Göteborg, Sweden, and he has lived in three different countries on three different continents. Somair was the recipient of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s award for outstanding pro bono service for his work as an immigrant rights advocate during law school. Somair also served as the Deputy Director of the International Law Committee at the United Nations Association in Washington, D.C. where he lead initiatives to foster dialogue concerning issues of international law and immigration policy. Somair knows the challenges that his clients face in the process of immigration. He is committed to providing the highest quality of legal representation and services to individuals and families to help them achieve their U.S. immigration goals. As immigration law is a federal practice, Somair is able to provide full legal services to clients anywhere in the U.S. and around the world. In addition to immigration law practice, Somair is passionate about fitness and athletics. He was a collegiate wrestler and is an IFPA Pro fitness athlete.
